CFP Examination Candidates Recognized For Top Performance

President’s List honours Canada’s highest scorers on the CFP examination 

TORONTO, ON – October 31, 2017 Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has announced the members of the esteemed President's List for the June 2017 sitting of the CFP® examination, recognizing candidates who achieved the highest marks out of hundreds of exam writers from across the country.

The President’s List honourees are:

  • Sara Ready – Toronto, ON (1st place)
  • Christopher Krmpotic – Waterloo, ON (2nd place tie)
  • Tim Schilds – Dawson Creek, BC (2nd place tie)

All three candidates have subsequently obtained CFP certification.

Members of the President’s List were recognized from a total of 436 candidates who wrote the final, standardized national CFP examination.

“FPSC congratulates these exceptional individuals for their performance on this challenging case-based examination,” says FPSC President and CEO Cary List. “We wish them great success as CFP professionals who will play a critical role in assisting Canadians achieve financial well-being.”

To qualify to write the six-hour CFP examination, candidates must have first successfully completed an FPSC-Approved Core Curriculum education program, the FPSC Level 1® Examination in Financial Planning, and an FPSC-Approved Capstone Course. Successful CFP Examination candidates with three years of relevant work experience are then eligible to apply for CFP certification, the only globally recognized mark of financial planning professionalism.

President’s List recipients will be recognized at FPSC’s Celebration of the Profession Dinner at the Toronto Reference Library, taking place November 21, 2017 during Financial Planning Week.

Examinations on the path to CFP certification are offered twice per year in locations across Canada, with the next sitting taking place on December 1, 2017. Registration is available here.
