Honour recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the financial planning profession in Canada
Toronto, ON – May 31, 2018 – Financial Planning Standards Council is now accepting nominations for the Fellow of FPSC distinction, which recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the financial planning profession in Canada.
Fellow of FPSC recipients must fulfill both of the following criteria:
- Volunteering or related activity with FPSC that is directly related to advancing FPSC’s purpose of driving value and instilling confidence in financial planning.
- Advancement of CFP® professional standards by leading or inspiring the development, acceptance or adoption of the standards in order to further the public interest and enhance the reputation of the designation.
Recipients of the Fellow of FPSC distinction will be honoured during Financial Planning Week at FPSC’s Celebration of the Profession Dinner, taking place on November 20 in Toronto.

Nominations are also accepted at any time for the Donald. J. Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award in Financial Planning, which recognized recipients' lifetime advancement of Certified Financial Planner® certification and profound contributions to the financial planning profession. The award is named for Don Johnston, who led FPSC through its first decade of development and operation and helped set the foundation for the evolution of financial planning in Canada.
