FELLOW OF FPSC™ Distinction Announced for 2018

TORONTO, ON – September 24, 2018 – Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has announced the results of the Fellow of FPSC nominations for 2018. Aurèle Courcelles, CFP® and Professor Kwok Sum Ho, CFP® have been selected as recipients of this distinction. Created in 2011, this lifelong honour recognizes individuals who have helped advance FPSC's purpose as well as advance CFP professional standards, and who have embodied these standards throughout their careers.

Mr. Courcelles, Assistant Vice-President, Tax and Estate Planning with the Advanced Financial Planning division at IG Wealth Management, has played a valuable role in advancing FPSC’s purpose and expanding adoption of Certified Financial Planner® professional standards over the course of his career. Mr. Courcelles has also volunteered extensively with FPSC, as a member of the FPSC Level 1 Exam Panel for seven years—where his in-depth tax-planning expertise was instrumental in developing exam content—and as a member of the CFP Professional Competency Profile Task Force in 2016. He also co-authored the textbook Personal Financial Planning—which has been widely adopted by universities and colleges across Canada, has engaged in extensive financial planning research and has published several academic papers that have influenced the practice of financial planning around the world.
