CFP Examination Candidates Recognized for Top Performance

President’s List honours Canada’s highest scorers

TORONTO, ON – October 10, 2018 – Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has announced the members of the esteemed President's List for the June 2018 sitting of the CFP® examination, recognizing candidates who achieved the highest marks out of hundreds of exam writers from across the country.

The President’s List honourees are:

  • Katelyn Culliton – Waterloo, ON (1st place)
  • Neal Kongkham – London, ON (2nd place tie)
  • Blair Evans – Winnipeg, MB (2nd place tie)

All three candidates have subsequently obtained CFP certification.

Members of the President’s List were recognized from a total of 473 candidates who wrote the final, standardized national CFP examination.

“Congratulations to Katelyn, Neal and Blair for their outstanding performance on this challenging examination,” says FPSC President and CEO Cary List. “CFP certification represents the highest level of knowledge, skills, experience and ethics expected of the financial planning profession. We wish these individuals success in their careers as CFP professionals.”

To qualify to write the six-hour CFP examination, candidates must have first successfully completed an FPSC-Approved Core Curriculum education program, the FPSC Level 1® Examination in Financial Planning and an FPSC-Approved Capstone Course. Successful CFP examination candidates with three years of relevant work experience are then eligible to apply for CFP certification, the only globally recognized mark of financial planning professionalism.

President’s List recipients will be recognized at FPSC’s Celebration of the Profession Dinner at the Toronto Reference Library, taking place on November 20, 2018 as part of Financial Planning Week. For tickets to this event, please register at

Examinations on the path to CFP certification are offered twice per year in locations across Canada. The next FPSC Level 1 examination will take place on November 29 and the next CFP examination on November 30. Registration is available here.
