Damienne Lebrun-Reid, LL.B.
Managing Director, Standards
As Managing Director, Standards, Damienne is responsible for the development, maintenance and enforcement of FPSC’s financial planning standards.
Damienne leads FPSC’s certification program and requirements for CFP® professionals and FPSC Level 1® Certificants in Financial Planning, overseeing certification and examination requirements, policies, competencies and guidance to ensure that FPSC certificants maintain the highest standards. She also leads FPSC’s complaint and enforcement process to enforce ethical and professional standards and protect the Canadian public.
Damienne began her career as a lawyer in private practice, gaining extensive experience in the areas of civil fraud, securities litigation, health law and corporate commercial litigation before transitioning into professional governance and regulation. Damienne was Investigation Counsel at the Law Society of Upper Canada before joining FPSC in 2014.
Named one of Wealth Professional’s 2017 Women of Influence, Damienne is a volunteer member of the Human Resources Professional Association Review Committee; FPSC’s representative member on the Investigations, Discipline and Enforcement Association; a member of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators; and a volunteer student supervisor for Matthew House’s mock Refugee Hearing Program.
Damienne holds a law degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University.
